Advanced Search Facility (ASF) Forum

The purpose of the ASF is to provide an efficient means for gathering and indexing information on the Internet. The ASF Forum is a public, moderated computer forum open to anyone interested in discussing development, implementation, deployment, and technical issues surrounding the ASF.

The ASF Forum provides the opportunity for implementors, information providers, information intermediaries, librarians, public interest groups, the public, and other organizations to participate in discussions related to the ASF. The ASF Forum will also announce and provide electronic access to documents related to the ASF.

COALITION FOR NETWORKED INFORMATION:

The Coalition for Networked Information pursues its mission with the assistance of a task force of over two hundred institutions and organizations that provides focus and resources which are crucial to the ability of the Coalition to articulate and share visions of how information management must change in the 1990s to meet the social and economic opportunities and challenges of the 21st century. Members of the Coalition Task Force include, among others, higher education institutions, publishers, network service providers, computer hardware, software, and systems companies, library networks and organizations, and public and state libraries, a truly expert and diverse collaboration of stake-holders in information resource management. Currently 212 organizations and institutions are members of the Coalition Task Force.
