1. Introduction

Zap! is a WWW-to-Z39.50 gateway, used to accept queries from users through standard HTML forms. It then opens a connection to a Z39.50 server, submits the query, receives the results and converts them back to HTML.

Zap! may be compiled in as a module for the Apache http server, or it can be run as a CGI script for any Unix-based http server. Zap! has not been tested under Windows NT.
